DOING THINGS IN

Erin Clarke and I are putting the finishing touches on her new book of poetry, Absolutely Always. We hope to have it to the proper people this week for a release at the end of March or early April.
The collection of poems in Absolutely Always examines the expressions of love Erin notices in her home and within herself. What strange and daunting challenges appear in a family, and what strong and varied loves grow up to face them?
It’s journalistic and universal, sharp and soft. It’s profound and simple, beautifully written and true.*

Matt Riggle (whose bands’ songs have been in rotation on the playlist of my life for the last 30 years) and I are working together to put out a collection of his lyrics as poetry, preceded by a conversation between the two of us, coming out in Summer 2026.

Art things are always happening. They usually don’t settle long enough to be organized. Not like a book, a book is thing that can sit on a table or stand on a shelf. Still, I hear-tell of an ART page on this very website.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported Adam and me at Bold Coffee and Books on the evening of 1/31. What a great crowd of our friends, both shared and not. Even Ray Gun showed up, same hat as ever. When a man gets a hat that fits his face, that’s the hat forever man. Anyway, thanks for coming.
Doing a thing you think would be improved with our presence? That qualifies as good news, and you can email me at scottcannonpdx@gmail.com
